The Building Regulations 2010 are the rules that help ensure that new homes, alterations, and extensions are safe for residents. The regulations also set standards for energy efficiency.
You will probably need building regulations approval from the Local Area Building Control (LABC) at your local authority if you:
- extend your property
- carry out electrical works
- install a new (no replacement) bathroom
- replace windows and doors
- replace a roof covering
- install a new heating system
- add extra radiators to a heating system
