The Law Society
The Law Society is the professional body for solicitors in England and Wales. It is responsible for setting and maintaining standards for solicitors in England and Wales. Solicitors are required to be a member of the Law Society and must abide by its rules and regulations.
The society also promotes the interests of the solicitor profession and represents solicitors in discussions with the government and other legal bodies. It has played a key role in shaping the legal profession, and has been involved in many significant legal reforms.
The society has also campaigned for greater access to justice for all and has been involved in the development of legal education and training.
