Compensation Recovery Unit (CRU)

The Compensation Recovery Unit is the government department responsible for the recovery of social security benefits paid out in certain personal injury and clinical negligence cases.

If you have received financial compensation for an injury then this will be retrospectively factored into any benefits you received.

The CRU works with insurance companies and solicitors to ensure that benefits are recovered.
