What are the criteria for making a claim?

Compensation claims must be made within three years in the majority of cases.

In order to successfully win an injury claim, your solicitor must prove:

  • You were owed a duty of care by the Defendant
  • That duty was breached by the Defendant
  • The Defendant's breach caused your injury or illness

Slip and trip accidents

Officially recorded figures underscore the fact that slips and trips are by some margin the most frequent cause of accidents leading to injury at work in Surrey. These types of accident are quite often the cause of accidents categorised as something else for instance being hit by a reversing vehicle or a fire related accident. Public liability claims for injuries like broken collarbones experienced on obstructed footpaths are also common with trips having occurred on Kingston Rd and on Barnettwood Lane.

Medical negligence in Ashtead

Medical negligence describes when a patient suffers injury or illness due to the carelessness of a doctor, nurse or other health worker. Quittance's expert panel of injury lawyers can help you claim compensation from the trust or private hospital liable for your injury.

If you only want answers instead of starting an injury claim, you can raise a formal complaint. To follow the formal NHS complaints process against Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, for example, you can contact St Peters Hospital, Guildford Road, Chertsey, Surrey.

Frequently asked questions

Does Quittance offer 100% No Win, No Fee

If your claim is not successful, our No Win, No Fee policy covers 100% of your legal fees. This means that there is no financial risk in making a claim.

Picking the right solicitor

In many cases a claim for compensation will take some months to reach a conclusion. In cases of serious injury, claims may run for one or two years. The SRA regulates all solicitors, but service levels can vary.

Your solicitor should be someone you can rely on throughout your claim to provide practical advice and expert legal guidance.

You should be aware of how much of your compensation will be taken to cover these fees.

Will I have to choose a law firm near me?

As with many professional services, you do not need to choose a lawyer near you.

Medical exams will usually need to be conducted locally. Quittance's national network of medical professionals will assist with this critical stage of the claims process.

Wherever your solicitor is based, they will arrange for a local medical expert to carry out the exam.
