Private Residence Relief

Private Residence Relief is a kind of tax relief available to you if you are selling your home.

Ordinarily, if you were selling a property that had increased in value since you bought it, you would have to pay Capital Gains Tax.

If you qualify for Private Residence Relief, you do not have to pay this Capital Gains Tax.

There are a number of criteria you must meet to qualify. You may also be entitled to partial relief even if not all criteria are met.
